MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (AP) — Miami Dolphins rookie extensive receiver Daewood Davis was unveiled from a Jacksonville clinic Sunday early morning and is in the NFL’s concussion protocol soon after he was carted off the field during the fourth quarter of Miami’s preseason sport against the Jaguars on Saturday night.

Miami mentor Mike McDaniel reported Davis was at the Dolphins’ facility and will be further evaluated.

“He’s undertaking better than last night time in conditions of power,” McDaniel stated Sunday. “There ended up selected factors that we have been apprehensive about that were avoided. But we’ll go on checking him extensively as he’s in the protocol. I know that there are unquestionably a lot of guys that are incredibly, really, extremely joyful and relieved to see him.”

Davis was making an attempt to capture a pass from James Blackman in the fourth quarter when he took a tough hit from Jacksonville’s Dequan Jackson, who was flagged for unwanted roughness. Davis remained down on the industry motionless, was carted off in an immobilized situation and taken to a healthcare facility for further evaluation.

The Dolphins later updated that Davis, who is from Hollywood, Florida, was conscious and had movement in all of his extremities.

Just after Davis was carted off, McDaniel and Jaguars mentor Doug Pederson spoke on the industry and agreed to quit the sport with 8:32 remaining in the fourth quarter and the Jaguars primary 31-18.

“The psychological roller coaster was true just since there was a large amount of fellas in the activity, such as himself, that men and women, seriously his teammates, have been pumped for — to be in the recreation and get alternatives to make plays,” McDaniel stated right after the sport. “And there’s not seriously a playbook for things of that nature. You could see in the collective faces of both teams their mind was not on enjoying football at all. So (I) imagined it was inappropriate to play football.”
