PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — The odds may be lower, but the stakes have under no circumstances been higher.
With no winners in Friday, Aug. 4’s Mega Millions lottery drawing, the jackpot has developed still again – it now stands at $1.55 billion.
This is the largest lottery jackpot in Mega Thousands and thousands history, eclipsing a document earlier held by a $1.53 billion jackpot. That was gained in October 2018 in South Carolina.

The greatest jackpot in lottery historical past is a $2.04 billion Powerball jackpot received in November 2022.
The future Mega Thousands and thousands drawing is Tuesday, Aug. 8.
