MIAMI – Previous Sweetwater commissioner Sophia Lacayo was arrested Tuesday and is experiencing rates alleging campaign-finance violations.
Lacayo, 45, was arrested Tuesday on various counts relevant to campaign-finance regulations, as initial documented by CBS Information Miami’s partner the Miami Herald.
This investigation is staying executed by the State Attorney’s Workplace Endeavor Force.
Bond was established at $14,500.
Back in 2020, Lacayo was billed with one rely of perjury.
Officials say Lacayo, who was elected in Might 2019, did not truly reside within just the city limitations, a need of the Town Charter in get to operate for office.
