MIAMI — 3 Transportation Security Administration (TSA) officers have been arrested at Miami International Airport (MIA) for allegedly stealing from passengers throughout protection screenings.
Arrest affidavits show that 22-calendar year-previous Elizabeth Fuster, 33-calendar year-aged Labarrius Williams and 20-calendar year-old Josue Gonzalez ended up all arrested Thursday on costs of structured strategies to defraud.
According to the affidavits, the airport federal protection director for law enforcement at MIA contacted a Miami-Dade Law enforcement detective pertaining to thefts that occurred at Checkpoint E involving TSA officers. The investigation revealed that three officers, whilst on duty, have been observed on surveillance online video conspiring alongside one another to distract passengers as they were getting screened and stole income from their belongings.
Because of to protection fears, the detective promptly researched the thefts, which exposed a current situation that was previously opened by law enforcement.
Immediately after observing surveillance movie provided by TSA, the detective observed Fuster, Williams and Gonzalez get rid of $600 from a passenger’s wallet even though they were being being screened, the affidavits stated. Next a official job interview at the TSA Command Center, Gonzalez and Fuster waived their rights and offered published statements confessing their steps, although Williams did not waive his legal rights and refused to talk.
