ST. LOUIS — The St. Louis County Department of Public Overall health has issued a warning about oysters just after a man’s dying.
The department is advising anyone who purchased oysters from The Fruit Stand & Seafood at 14433 Manchester Highway in Manchester to dispose of them. The office designed the announcement just after mastering a male died following feeding on raw oysters offered there.
The 54-year-aged person reportedly turned contaminated by the microbes Vibrio vulnificus, which is carried by oysters and other shellfish. He had eaten the raw oysters bought from The Fruit Stand & Seafood within the past week. He died at a hospital on Thursday.
In accordance to the division, the oysters had been probable had been currently contaminated when they arrived at the institution. Remaining oysters have been embargoed by the division as investigators do the job to identify wherever the oysters came from.
Indicators of Vibrio vulnificus can include things like belly cramping, nausea, fever, chills and vomiting. Any individual who has eaten raw oysters and is showing symptoms is encouraged to right away search for professional medical treatment.
