MIAMI — The brother of a beloved Miami businessman who was gunned down Tuesday inside his store has come to South Florida from the Center East on a mission.
In an exclusive interview with CBS News Miami’s Peter D’Oench, Naaser Aweidah mentioned that he is in Miami to provide his brother’s entire body “home to Israel” exactly where quite a few of his relatives customers are living.
Aweidah’s brother, 46-year-previous Nader Aweidah, was shot and killed inside his small business, the Best Paint and System shop at 7455 NW 7th Ave., just before 11 a.m. on Tuesday.
There is now a makeshift memorial with bouquets outside that business enterprise, which remained shut on Thursday.
Aweidah, who was recognised as “Bubba,” also owned Bubba’s Grocery store upcoming to the store and that is where by CBS Information Miami caught up with his brother.
“I am producing preparations to take his physique house to Israel,” Naaser reported. “My brother, he was, you can not obtain a human being like him at all. You won’t be able to find a man or woman like him time period.”
Nader Aweidah was identified for helping some others in the neighborhood and a close friend explained he had operated the Ideal Paint and System store for the earlier 20 many years. Online video from Fb reveals him performing at his organization.
“He experienced a large heart,” Naaser mentioned. “He was encouraging all people all over and what happened to him was a large, major catastrophe and we desire justice for his soul. He meant almost everything to the family members. Just picture what was heading on with his relatives.”
Miami Police said 38-12 months-previous Ferris Phillips was arrested for the criminal offense following turning himself in in Fort Lauderdale.
“There was no argument inside of the shop. He just shot him like that in chilly blood, in extremely cold blood. I won’t be able to believe it right until now,” Naaser reported. “I cannot consider it.”
He explained is attempting to cope with the decline of his brother.
“I pray that God will show mercy on his soul and that is it,” Naaser explained. “Thank you.”
Miami Police spokesman Officer Mike Vega explained it is not crystal clear what prompted the shooting.
“We are still investigating and trying to get more details and reviewing the films,” Vega stated. “We know he went within the human body store. And when he went within, the witness who exited reported he allowed the suspect, in this situation, to sit down with Bubba and have a conversation and discuss and say something. Then the person is viewed running out of there after shooting him a couple of situations.”
“That is what we are hoping to determine. Was there an argument? Did this have a little something to do with the business enterprise or with anything from either one’s earlier? We know that the suspect has never been arrested prior to.”
Vega said police might know additional soon after detectives interview the suspect.
