FORT LAUDERDALE — A teenager was in custody Saturday following the 16-12 months-old suspect allegedly phoned in bomb threats to quite a few Broward County faculties and the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, the Broward County Sheriff’s Business mentioned.
The suspect, who was not recognized, was taken to the county’s juvenile evaluation heart right after remaining billed with making created threats to eliminate, untrue report of a bomb or firearm and disruption of a school functionality, the sheriff’s business office explained in a composed statement.
The Broward Sheriff’s Place of work and Risk Administration Device investigated the incident alongside with the Hollywood Law enforcement Office, Coral Springs Threat Management Unit and Coconut Creek Police Office, officers stated.
According to investigators, the suspect called 911 Friday around 10 a.m. and explained to the dispatcher about a prepared bombing at South Broward Significant School. Minutes later on, another get in touch with was produced, this time threatening a capturing at both equally South Broward Significant Faculty and Attucks Center College in Hollywood.
Authorities mentioned the teenager also built false bomb threats to Coconut Creek Significant Faculty, Blanche Ely Large University, Coral Glades Superior College, and the Fort Lauderdale airport, disrupting functions at the areas.
Investigators stated the teen is not a university student at any of the educational institutions that were focused but they did not say what university the child attends or where by they dwell.
