Suspect arrested in Jacksonville in February slaying in North Miami Beach, police say


MIAMI — Police in North Miami Seashore said Thursday that a suspect has been arrested in connection with the slaying of a gentleman three months ago through what officials stated was a carjacking long gone mistaken.

Louis Redmon, 28, who experienced moved to North Miami Beach front at the get started of the calendar year was taken into custody Wednesday night time in Jacksonville in the loss of life of Hershy Schwartz, police Chief Harvette Smith explained during an afternoon news convention. 

It was not promptly very clear if Redmon has been extradited again to Miami-Dade or what charges law enforcement planned to file.

Schwartz was fatally shot on Feb. 19 in the parking ton of a Wendy’s at 25 NE 167th St., investigators claimed.

Smith claimed she called Schwartz’s brother in Israel to advise him about the arrest.

“Our homicide group is top notch,” she said. ” They gave all they could for the Schwartz household.”

Police reported the suspect focused Schwartz in the course of a carjacking that ended in the slaying of Redmon.

Investigators said law enforcement were equipped to address the case soon after talking to witnesses about information that only law enforcement had.
