Navy pilot rescued following ejecting from military services plane close to Key West


Crucial WEST — The pilot of a U.S. Navy fighter jet was rescued just after he ejected from his aircraft in close proximity to the Florida Keys, authorities reported.

A spokesperson for the Key West Naval Air Station advised CBS Information Miami that the pilot with the firefighter squadron was pressured to eject about 25 miles south of Boca Chita.

A Navy pilot was taken to a Miami healthcare facility soon after ejecting from his armed forces plane in the vicinity of the Florida Keys on Wednesday.

The pilot was flown to a Miami-space medical center for remedy.

It was not instantly obvious what led the pilot to eject from the airplane.

No other injuries ended up claimed.
