HIALEAH — A Hialeah law enforcement officer was hurt early this morning just after making an attempt to conduct a traffic quit on a motorcyclist in the location of East 4th Avenue & 49th Avenue. 

According to authorities, as the officer approached the motorcyclist, the topic accelerated towards the officer, striking him and leading to accidents. 

The matter deserted the bike at the scene and fled on foot into a close by household location. A perimeter was instantly recognized, and the subject matter, recognized as 36-calendar year-outdated Roberto Ortiz of Miami, was situated and taken into custody, according to law enforcement. 

Hialeah law enforcement mentioned that data display the motorbike was documented stolen out of the Town of Miami. 

The injured officer was transported to Jackson Ryder Trauma for remedy and is awaiting surgical treatment, officials claimed. 

Ortiz has been transported to TGK and is experiencing many expenses, which includes theft of the motorcycle and aggravated battery on a regulation enforcement officer, according to police.
