NILES, Sick. (CBS)– The steaks were being higher Thursday morning just after a senior prank went awry, top to a cow on the hoof while north suburban Niles.
Movie from a neighbor captured a loose cow trotting down the street as a group, later determined to be pupils, chased it.
Niles law enforcement reported pupils who attend Northridge Prep College “have been seemingly associated in what was described as a ‘senior prank,’ by bringing dwell animals to the university.”
Police established the students bought the cow and a pig on Craiglist. The pig was picked around Dixon, Illinois, and the cow was bought around Winneconne, Wisconsin.
Law enforcement said a college student also introduced chickens from house to the faculty as section of the prank.
The cow escaped and went by way of a neighborhood.
The animal was initially described as a cow. But CBS 2 was later on informed the animal was a steer – a male bovine that has been castrated. But afterwards still, a wrangler mentioned the animal was indeed female following all, and was a heifer – a young cow that has not presented delivery.
Close to 9:15 a.m., police had been found on movie wrestling the cow and capturing it.
Law enforcement worked with Wagner Farms in nearby Glenview to secure the cow. Wagner Farms can’t take possession of the cow, so it will be taken to Hooved Animals Humane Modern society in Woodstock, Illinois.
The college students responsible ended up cited for curfew violation, disorderly conduct, animal feces accumulation, and prohibited animal species in relationship to the incident, law enforcement verified. The faculty administration refused to go after any felony fees.
Roger Plummer was on his way household from his WBBM Radio shift when he captured the cow on video clip.
“When I seemed up I believed, ‘is that cow operating down the avenue?’ Plummer reported.
He reported he saw about a fifty percent dozen young guys operating.
“I yelled out of course, ‘why is a cow running down the avenue?'” Plummer claimed.
Someone advised him, “I am sorry sir, occasionally issues like this materialize.”
