Previous gubernatorial candidate Andrew Gillum’s demo established to commence Monday

MIAMI – Previous Democratic gubernatorial candidate Andrew Gillum is scheduled to stand trial starting up Monday on a series of criminal expenses.

A document filed Thursday following U.S. District Decide Allen Winsor held a pre-demo hearing claimed jury selection will begin Monday and that lawyers must be ready to give opening arguments.

It also indicated the trial could very last 3 months.

Gilum, a former Tallahassee mayor, and a longtime adviser, Sharon Lettman-Hicks, ended up indicted last year on rates which includes wire fraud.

The rates arrived just after a prolonged federal investigation into corruption in town govt and integrated allegations that political contributions have been diverted to Gillum’s private use. What is known as a “superseding” indictment was issued Tuesday.

But the document filed Thursday reported that filing did not direct to a request for a continuance and that the demo will “continue as scheduled.” Gillum narrowly lost the 2018 gubernatorial race to Republican Ron DeSantis.
