Martin Lawrence’s rise from comedy golf equipment on the east coast to Hollywood stardom will be celebrated Thursday at the unveiling of his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The “Negative Boys” and “Martin” actor-comedian will be joined by fellow actor-comedians Steve Harvey and Tracy Morgan, and actress Lynn Whitfield at the 11:30 a.m. PT ceremony. The star is in the 6900 block of Hollywood Boulevard, among Cherokee and Whitley avenues.

Born April 16, 1965, in Frankfurt, West Germany when his father was serving in the U.S. Military, Lawrence was lifted in the Washington, D.C. suburb of Landover, Maryland. His comedy vocation commenced in golf equipment in the Washington spot.
