FORT LAUDERDALE — A few days following the metropolis was still left reeling after obtaining more than 20 inches of rain in a few hrs, Fort Lauderdale officials explained Saturday that the metropolis is slowly trying to recover.

Mayor Dean Trantalis was established to supply an update on its initiatives in the course of a news meeting at Holiday getaway Park.

The rains commenced Monday in Broward County before the heaviest rains arrived Wednesday afternoon.

The significant rain flooded streets, trapped many people in their houses and led to the unprecedented closure of Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood Worldwide Airport on Wednesday, stranding thousands of departing and arriving travellers.

The airport finally reopened Friday early morning at 9 a.m.
