FORT LAUDERDALE — Broward County Public Faculties introduced late Thursday that it had cancelled classes and all college activities because of popular flooding claimed throughout the county..
The announcement arrived right after up to 20 inches of rainfall was described all over Broward, prompting officials to shut the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and stranding dozens of motorists in rushing h2o.
The Nationwide Temperature Support issued a flooding emergency that was set to expire at 2 a.m.
CBS Information Miami main meteorologist Ivan Cabrera claimed the flooding resulted from a storm cell that in essence parked by itself above a large swath of the county, dumping various inches on currently saturated ground.
“This is going to be a unsafe night time for our pals in Broward County,” main meteorologist Ivan Cabrera claimed, referencing the 20 inches of rain that drenched elements of Broward County.
