BALTIMORE – 6 folks died when a motor vehicle crashed into a operate zone Wednesday afternoon on the internal loop of I-695 in Baltimore County.
According to Maryland Point out Law enforcement, close to 12:40 p.m., a motor vehicle drove in amongst temporary put jersey walls and struck several design staff just before overturning.
The crash on I-695 at Protection Boulevard shut down lanes in equally instructions for several hours.
The driver of the auto was taken to Shock Trauma.
“I am praying for the loved ones,” claimed Bridget Brown, whose son was on the highway all through the wreck. “My son was only a couple of vehicles back again. It could have been my son. I just thank God it is not him.”
Troopers claimed they are investigating the lead to of the crash.
Brown advised WJZ she was coming to meet her son, who told her not to just take 695. She took a again highway and noticed the commotion.
“When I arrived, I noticed individuals managing, all of the ambulances coming. It was a good deal,” Brown stated. “We have a casualty and I am praying for the loved ones. I didn’t see the crash, just the commotion.”
Baltimore County General public Universities stated it is preparing for substantial targeted traffic delays because of the wreck.
“Please keep away from the spot,” the district reported. “We will operate as immediately as achievable to transportation learners properly this afternoon.”
Baltimore County Executive Johnny Olszewski issued his condolences to all those associated in the crash.
“On behalf of all the inhabitants of Baltimore County, we offer our honest condolences to the families, mates, and liked types of people who have shed their lives in present day tragic crash and my prayers continue being with those wounded in this horrific incident,” Olszewski mentioned.
“My coronary heart goes out to the victims and the family members affected by the tragic crash on the 695 beltway this afternoon,” Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan said.
