MIAMI — A MiamI father has been billed in connection with his youthful son’s death, which the suspect documented was accidental in advance of investigators afterwards ruled it a homicide, in accordance to a police report.
Rashad Rancher, 41, was taken into custody past week right after currently being questioned about the initial story he gave investigators about his son’s demise.
The report says Rancher has been billed with 2nd-diploma murder. He was taken to the Miami-Dade County jail, where by he was currently being held with no bond, according to police

According to court files, law enforcement were being called on Nov. 12 to a residence in the 14200 block of SW 283rd Avenue shortly just before 3 p.m,
When law enforcement arrived, they found the unresponsive boy, whose age and title were being not publicly disclosed, on a bedroom flooring. The baby was taken to Homestead Healthcare facility, wherever he was pronounced dead, the police report states.
Rancher advised law enforcement his son experienced been in the father’s bed room with his sister although enjoying and had climbed on a dresser to get a tablet. The male advised investigators the dresser tipped in excess of, pinning the boy beneath.
The man told police he discovered his son and eradicated the dresser from him and the boy was “mindful and alert.” Rancher mentioned he went to rest and when he woke up the boy was unresponsive.
The health-related examiner’s office uncovered that the boy’s injuries ended up “not dependable” with the tale the person explained to investigators.
Rancher was taken into custody on March 15 for an unrelated investigation, according to law enforcement.
The law enforcement report does not point out how or why investigators related Rancher’s steps to the dying of his son. And his reaction to investigators was redacted.
The law enforcement report also does not show why it took 4 months for the loss of life reclassification.
