MIAMI – Police are investigating a documented police-concerned taking pictures in North Miami Seashore on Thursday afternoon.
CBS News Miami reporter Peter D’Oench explained a suspect experienced been holding a machete to a woman’s throat when he was shot by police.
Here’s what North Miami Beach front Police Chief Harvette Smith claimed about the incident:
“At the time inside of the business creating, the officers observed the topic consider a female in custody, with the machete pointed at her neck in an try to eliminate her. At that stage, our officers yet again gave commands for the issue to fall the knife. The matter refused to fall the knife at that position, building my officers resort to applying lethal drive to conserve a daily life.”
The female is said to be Okay, but the male died as a final result of his accidents.
It took place at close to 2 p.m. in the location of the 16800 block of NE 2nd Avenue.
Photographs from the scene confirmed a large law enforcement existence.
Authorities are urging motorists to prevent the region.
As is customary, in instances involving police-associated shootings, the Florida Division of Regulation Enforcement will be managing the investigation.
