MIAMI – Governor Ron DeSantis is downplaying a “warning” about selected teams touring to Florida.
During a news convention in Clay County, DeSantis was questioned about the Florida NAACP chapter inquiring the nationwide branch to difficulty a vacation advisory to Black Americans, telling them not to appear to Florida.
Studies say that the president of the Lee County NAACP was among hundreds of leaders who voted unanimously to request permission from headquarters for the journey advisory. They say the target is to alert Black folks eyeing Florida to select one more condition.
The governor termed the warning proposal “preposterous.”
“What a joke. Yeah, we will see how productive that is. You know, just try to remember, during COVID, these men and women would be on CNN, all this things, slamming Florida, stating we were being so negative, really don’t go to Florida. And then they would finish up being spotted on the beach someplace vacationing in Florida,” he mentioned.
The question of no matter if to concern the travel advisory is now in the palms of the nationwide NAACP board which could vote on the measure as quickly as following month.
