TALLAHASSEE – A Senate committee Monday will take up a bill that seeks to make it possible for the dying penalty for individuals who commit sexual batteries on small children under age 12.
The Senate Prison Justice Committee is slated to take into consideration the proposal (SB 1342), filed by Chairman Jonathan Martin, R-Fort Myers.
The bill and a very similar House evaluate (HB 1297) emerged right after Gov. Ron DeSantis in late January claimed the condition would check out strategies to have the loss of life penalty for men and women who rape youngsters.
