MIAMI – The emergency rental help program in Miami-Dade is no for a longer period reviewing new purposes for help.
Considering the fact that its launch, the program has dedicated $148 million in rental aid and assisted more than 22,000 people avoid involuntary displacement.
So why the pause in the method?
County officers explained the demand has exceeded readily available resources and the caseload is also major. But it is not just Miami-Dade. The issue is impacting emergency rental help applications throughout the state forcing them to place new applications on pause as effectively.
The county claims it has submitted a ask for for an further $35 million from the US Treasury Division. If awarded the cash, they will resume accepting applications.
