PALM Beach – It’s a lady! Lion Region Safari welcomed an adorable newborn chimpanzee last month.
Lili was born on January 28th at the West Palm Beach safari park.
Her name honors the Tonkolili Chimpanzee Project, a conservation initiative in Sierra Leone.

Lili joins a family of two girls and three males, which includes one particular-calendar year-aged Tonk. Team users said Lili’s mother, Juniper, has been proudly showing off her baby, who can be witnessed clinging to her mom within their habitat.
Lili’s delivery is unusual and considerable thanks to the declining amount of chimpanzees in the wild and the reduced variety of births in the populace.
Chimpanzees are listed as endangered and critically endangered in some regions by the Intercontinental Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), with populations decreasing because of to habitat loss, poaching, and disease.
Lion Nation Safari is property to 17 chimpanzees and is a very pleased participant in the Affiliation of Zoos and Aquariums’ Chimpanzee Species Survival Strategy and the Chimpanzee Saving Animals From Extinction (Harmless) Application.
