MIAMI — A habitual traffic regulation offender accused of operating around and killing two Florida Memorial University pupils all through a weekend hit-and-operate crash was recovering immediately after he was shot although hoping to flee the crime scene, authorities mentioned Tuesday.

Law enforcement discovered the suspect behind the wheel during the crash as Jerome Fitzpatrick Harrell, 35, of Miami Gardens.
A spokesperson for the Miami Gardens Law enforcement Section stated Harrell has not been booked into the county jail simply because he was getting addressed for gunshot wounds soon after he was shot times after the fatal wreck.
