FORT LAUDERDALE – The Broward College Board voted Wednesday to employ the service of Dr. Earlean Smiley as interim superintendent for $300,000 a year.
The transfer follows the board’s choice to slash ties with Dr. Vickie Cartwright, who was criticized for her leadership design.
Cartwright was on the job for a total of 18 months.
Dr. Smiley expended 38 years with the district just before getting a superintendent in South Carolina.
