Law enforcement ID veteran Miami-Dade officer, gentleman he shot and killed at Homestead browsing plaza


MIAMI — Investigators on Monday declared the identities of a veteran Miami-Dade law enforcement officer and the person he shot and killed at a Homestead procuring plaza more than the weekend.

The Florida Division of Law Enforcement is now investigating the actions of Officer Fransisco Moreno, who has been on the power for 30 a long time.

Alexander Arrington, 44, died soon after authorities claimed he refused to drop a weapon he brandished even though talking to a stability guard doing the job at Oasis Plaza, located at NE 8th Street.

Arrington died right after staying flown to Jackson South Trauma Center, officers claimed.   

 According to law enforcement, Arrington allegedly opened fire with the gun he had, striking a parked car in the parking whole lot, which is when the security guard confronted him.

Which is when the male allegedly confirmed his gun to the protection guard, who termed Homestead police.

Officers arrived a short time afterwards on the scene and confronted the guy.

Although this was happening, the off-duty Miami-Dade law enforcement officer happened to be in the parking whole lot, waiting for his wife or husband to go away the grocery shop. The off-duty officer discovered the suspect was armed and that’s when he obtained included.

“Both of those officers gave a number of verbal instructions to this unique to place the firearm down,” Miami-Dade detective Alvaro Zabaleta stated. “And to spot the firearm on the ground, the unique refused and then that’s when you listen to that the shots.”
