FORT LAUDERDALE – U.S. Rep. Greg Steube sustained “quite a few really serious accidents” when he fell off a ladder while reducing trees on his house on Florida’s Gulf Coast, his business said Thursday.
Steube invested the evening in the intensive treatment unit immediately after Wednesday’s 25-foot (7.6-meters) fall. His accidents are not regarded as life-threatening, a statement posted on Twitter claimed. An update later on Thursday mentioned he remained hospitalized but experienced remaining the ICU.
“He is making progress and in superior spirits,” the statement explained.
“Congressman Steube and his household would like to categorical their deepest many thanks to the crew of medical professionals, nurses, and health care staff dealing with him,” the statement stated. They also credited “an specific” who witnessed the drop and identified as 911, and Sarasota County’s crisis services for the speedy response and transportation to the medical center.
Steube’s business office originally tweeted about the incident late Wednesday.
“We will offer extra updates when probable,” the statement said. “Make sure you pray for the Congressman and his family.”
Fellow Republican Christian Ziegler, who is vice chair of Florida’s GOP, tweeted late Wednesday that he experienced just read that Steube was still in the healthcare facility, but carrying out very well. “Huge aid to hear,” Ziegler said in the tweet.
Steube was very first elected to the Household of Associates in 2018 and just began his third term. He signifies all of Sarasota and Charlotte counties and component of Lee County.
