Video from the park reveals sparks coming from a segment of the well-known Ferris wheel as first responders rushed to the scene.
George Hayeck, who was browsing from Boston, viewed as Orange Co. Hearth Rescue labored to safely carry the 62 trapped travellers down to the floor.
“When we got to the park it was previously dark and we commenced to see the flashlights of folks climbing the outskirts of it,” he reported.
Randy Pryor and his family members ended up at the park for his daughter’s birthday. He said he observed the initial responders go from vehicle to automobile to support people trapped to get down.
A spokesperson for the park said a energy outage caused the wheel to quit going. It is unclear what brought about the outage.
