FORT LAUDERDALE — A male suspected of robbing a lender was shot and killed by Broward County Sheriff’s Office deputies Monday morning next a chase and crash by the offender, authorities stated.

Sheriff Gregory Tony reported deputies from the SWAT team opened fire on the suspect right after he emerged from his crashed vehicle and flashed a gun in the region of NE 4th Avenue and  E. Atlantic Boulevard.

Tony reported the person, whose identity was pending, also apparently set his car on fire though he was inside, refusing to comply with deputies’ orders to surrender.

In accordance to the sheriff, a TD Lender branch, situated at 3785 N. Federal Highway in Oakland Park, was robbed by the armed suspect shorty prior to 10 a.m.

The person fled from the scene but was noticed about a fifty percent-hour later on by regulation enforcement officers who started pursuing him.

“The suspect fled and just recklessly was in and out of website traffic all by out the Pompano area,” Tony said.  

At some stage, the man’s car or truck crashed into a pole, which led to the standoff with deputies.

When the guy received out of the motor vehicle and brandished a weapon, that is when the Broward deputies responded.

“The 4 deputies fired and set the suspect down,” Tony stated.

.No other accidents ended up promptly described from the incident, which led to large targeted traffic delays in the spot.

Authorities have not said if there were other lender prospects within the department when the keep-up happened.

Witness video clip captured the instant gunfire erupted on the occupied Pompano Beach avenue.

“I heard, ‘Pop, pop, pop, pop’ and then that was it,” reported Allen Hubbell, who was going for walks his pet when the mayhem occurred.
