FORT LAUDERDALE – A new Broward University Board member is acquiring backlash from many groups and two fellow board associates for speaking at a rally about sex trafficking that also welcomed Proud Boys and anti-LGBTQ+ rhetoric.
In accordance to the SunSentinel, Brenda Fam claimed her mission is to shield children.
“If heading to a rally entitled Protect the Children” carrying a indication that states “Grooming Qualified prospects to Sexual intercourse Trafficking” is offensive, then so be it,” Fam posted on Facebook.
Fam also posted that she welcomes assist from all teams, like the Proud Boys.
“If you help my result in, to secure the little ones you are welcomed (sic) to stand next to me. Doesn’t subject if you are homosexual, straight, black, white, Black Life Make any difference, or the Proud Boys. The little ones don’t treatment who is rescuing them they just want to be rescued,” she continued.
Nevertheless, she mentioned she does not endorse the beliefs of the Proud Boys or other groups in attendance at the rally.
Faculty Board users Nora Rupert and Sarah Leonardi claimed they have been troubled by Fam having part in the rally and her Fb comments, in accordance to the SunSentinel.
