Almost two dozen migrants rescued from tough seas off Key Largo


MIAMI – Another daring rescue at sea as the US Coast Guard and US Border Patrol rescued 22 men and women, like children, from an overloaded boat in the Florida Keys.

A boater reported the vessel Monday early morning off Rodriguez Vital, east of Essential Largo.

Rescue crews battled 6 to 10-foot seas and 25 mph winds to safely take out the folks from the vessel.

About the weekend, at minimum four people are considered to have drowned and rescuers searched for one more 5 people today off the Keys soon after a selfmade vessel capsized.

The Coast Guard stated 9 individuals had been rescued and the system of a person person was recovered Saturday after the boat capsized about 50 miles from Very little Torch Key.

Some of all those rescued have been wearing lifestyle jackets which possible saved their lives in the waves that hit as significant as 8 toes amid 30 mph winds, the Coastline Guard said in a tweet.

The company did not discover the region of origin for the migrants but did tag the US Embassy in Cuba’s Twitter account in their tweets about the incident.
