Vital WEST – Four-footed “celebration animals” in costumes, parading throughout a harborfront stage, competed in Key West’s Fantasy Fest Pet Masquerade.
The colorful Wednesday night time contest was a spotlight of the Fantasy Fest costuming and masking festival, this calendar year themed “Cult Classics & Cartoon Chaos,” that commenced Oct 21st.
The Pet Masquerade captivated a broad wide range of barking and meowing revelers and their human companions. Entries ranged from costumed pet-and-human being pairs to teams of dressed-up animals and individuals staging offbeat performances.

Some opponents drew inspiration from the festival’s theme. Among the them was a “Rocky Horror Photo Present” ensemble showcasing 4 basset hounds and a massive troupe of persons and animals spoofing the 1988 film “Beetlejuice.”
Other noteworthy entries involved a lion tamer and her canine “lion,” two pirate pooches, and an Italian greyhound costumed as the late rock star Prince.
Fantasy Fest proceeds as a result of Sunday, Oct 30th, featuring a complete 10-day slate of gatherings for the initial time given that just before the coronavirus pandemic commenced.
Impending highlights involve a masquerade march through Important West’s picturesque Outdated City and a lavish night parade Saturday, October 29th, featuring substantial-scale motorized floats and elaborately costumed marching teams.
