Miami Style District venue sues embattled entertainer Kanye West over unpaid $146K monthly bill


MIAMI — A venue in the Miami Design District has submitted a civil lawsuit from embattled entertainer Kanye West more than an unpaid bill for practically $146,000 that stemmed from a location space that was rented and custom-made at the rapper’s request but hardly ever applied, according to the courtroom doc.

Surface Media filed the suit this week in the Southern District of Florida in an hard work to obtain the dollars for rental prices and customization orders allegedly asked for by the rapper.

According to the court docket doc, the rapper approached the “shoppable showroom with a curated artwork selection, style objects, and household furniture” that is situated in the Miami Design District in January. 

West experienced approached officers and “talked over customizing the house to the Defendant’s needs, desires and specs, which includes the removing of selected art pieces and household furniture from the room and bringing in other art pieces and furniture to match the Defendant’s ideal colour plan. On top of that, the events talked over rental length, rental expenses, relocating fees, buys, etcetera.,” the court document claims.

Officers stated Kanye permitted the proposed spending plan verbally and via textual content messages but then did not spend the $145,813 cost to rent the location, which amounted to $5,000 for each working day for 25 days and going costs in the sum of $20,000. 

The court document reported West also agreed to purchase four workplace chairs for $813. 

“My customer pulled off what was primarily an right away transformation of its artwork studio into a recording studio for Ye and accompanying artists,” Jonathan Smulevich, a local law firm at Lowy and Prepare dinner and who is representing Floor Area’s dad or mum firm Floor Media, instructed the Miami Herald. “In doing so, no ask for was as well major or as well small – Ye asked, and they sent – and my client incurred substantial expenses and costs to provide.”

Neither West or anyone affiliated with him have publicly commented on the lawsuit.
