EDGARTOWN — A group of migrants flown to Martha’s Winery on the orders of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis will be moved to housing on a military base on Cape Cod.

Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker stated Friday the move was voluntary.
These migrants who come to a decision to make the trip will get food stuff and solutions and be housed in dormitory-type lodging, with different quarters for households.
Authorities haven’t claimed what will materialize to all those who want to remain set.
Baker has praised the residents of Martha’s Vineyard for caring for the migrants, who are mainly from Venezuela, but suggests the island lacks the resources to offer lengthy-phrase treatment.
DeSantis and Texas Governor Greg Abbott are having credit history for the flights. The two planes still left Texas and made a prevent in Florida’s panhandle right before heading to Massachusetts.
DeSantis said the flights have been component of the state’s $12 million relocation method to “transportation unlawful immigrants to sanctuary destinations.”
“Our message is we are not a sanctuary condition,” said DeSantis on Thursday.
Friday early morning, a coalition of religion and immigrant groups in Orlando known as out the governor’s decision.
“They are inquiring for one thing that is lawful, they’re inquiring for asylum, to go as a result of the approach. Some folks say go by means of the method, they are going by the course of action, this is the course of action, they are in line, some are accomplishing what we are asking them to do,” claimed Laudi Campo, the Hispanic Federation’s state director.
The coalition mentioned they will fight again with votes and continue on to press back.
