Hurricane Fiona grows to Group 2 storm as it nears Turks and Caicos


MIAMI – Hurricane Fiona grew Monday evening to a Category 2 storm just after it battered Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic and headed in direction of Turks and Caicos.

In accordance to the 5 p.m. update from the Nationwide Hurricane Heart, the storm was packing sustained winds of 100 miles for each hour or extra and was bit by bit shifting northwest.

A hurricane warning remained in result for the Turks and Caicos with a hurricane view and tropical storm warnings issued for components of the Dominican Republic, according to the Nationwide Weather Company.
