Florida Mansion On Over 10 Acres Of Lakefront Property Goes On The Market For $75 Million

16 February 2012

Property buyers within the Orlando, Florida region might be interested in the 90,000 square foot mansion located in Windermere which is still on the market having been placed for sale in 2010. It happens to be the biggest single-family home property in the United States.

The mansion is still under construction at the moment but interested property buyers will find that buying the property for a sum value of $75 million is an option given that it is going to be sold as it is. However, if you would much rather prefer that the construction be completed prior to your purchase, that too is an option which could easily be settled for a sum value of $100 million as finishing touches could add up to around $25 million.

The owner of the mansion, David Siegel, is a self-made billionaire who happens to hold the position of founder, president and CEO of Westgate Resorts which has its operations within popular vacation spots across the United States. He and his wife currently live in a 26,000 square foot home property in Orlando which has all the features that one would expect from someone of such high stature. Nevertheless, the couple hoped to take on upgrades and decided upon the Windermere mansion.

According to the Windermere mansion’s website, the property is located on five lakefront lots which cover over 10 acres in land area and features the Lake Butler shoreline which has a span of 1,200 feet. Within the community are high-profile individuals including Shaquille O’Neal of NBA fame, but people shouldn’t be quick to assume that they are bound to run into any of the neighbors because the mansion sits on an isolated area on Lake Butler.

The purchase was made by the Siegels in 2007 when construction had began but it become neceesary to place plans on hold due to the fact that the stock market had crashed. No figures have been released as to the exact amount of money lost during that time but it is safe to say that it was enough to bring construction plans to a full-stop. It had later on been placed on the market although there are experts who are convinced that it is going to have to sit on the market for a while before an eager property buyer decides to make that major purchase.

The design concept behind the Windermere mansion is based on the Versailles, a famous Parisian palace belonging to King Louis XIV. The expansive property showcases a total of 13 bedrooms, 23 bathrooms, a grand hall where a 30-foot dome of stained glass is located, a kitchen with the size of 1,110 square feet with 10 satellite kitchen areas, a bowling alley, a roller rink, its very own movie theater with balcony, 4 fireplace areas, and a dining room which can accommodate up to 30 people in its seating capacity.

Given the fact that there is so much that the interior of the mansion has to offer, it can be quite overwhelming to find out that there is more outside that awaits its next owner as there is also a a boathouse, a baseball field, a pool deck with a span of half an acre, and — not one, but — two tennis courts. Furthermore, the garage of the mansion can accommodate up to 20 cars.

There is no arguing with the fact that whoever should be able to afford an extravagant mansion such as the one in Windermere will be among the top of the list of the richest people within the country.

Despite the fact that real estate experts feel that the Windermere mansion is going to be on the market for quite some time, the Siegels remain in good spirits and even have been talking about reconstruction plans.
